Festival of Speed Gallery by Nicole Hains

The Festival of Speed is an event like no other, with more than 200,000 people attending over the event it could be that FoS has now become the largest Green Field event in the world and certainly there is nowhere else I would have rather been.

This year we celebrated 120 years with Mercedes-Benz, who stole the show with their breathtaking central feature that was the first in history to soar over the top of Goodwood House!

We witnessed Seb Loeb win the shoot-out in the Pikes Peak, Lewis Hamilton Donoughting outside Goodwood House, Anthony Reid lose a wheel at Molcombe corner after a small incident with the flint wall and Chris Hoy speed into the haybales.

Another fantastic moment was John Surtees marking his 50th anniversary of winning the 1964 F1 title. The occasion was marked with a special hill climb in which Surtees drove his Ferrari 158 alongside Kimi Raikkonen in his title winning 2007 F1 car.

CKL Track Day by Nicole Hains

Today our friends from CKL Developments visited Goodwood's Motor circuit to push the cars hard round the track, after all, what the use of having so many outstanding historic race cars if you can't put them to the test!

The most fantastic grid line start with the team and clients of CKL Developments.

The most fantastic grid line start with the team and clients of CKL Developments.

The cars on the grid line varied from the Ecurie Ecosse D-type to the Ferrari 250 'Europa' GT and I just couldn't give up the opportunity to go for a drive!

Thank you so much CKL Developments for another fantastic day.

Tom Cruise Visits Goodwood by Nicole Hains

Earlier in the week I got the opportunity to photograph Tom Cruise as he visited Goodwood for a Track day with Lord March. Everyone had a fantastic day as they sped around the Goodwood Motor Circuit in new Ferrari's, McLaren's and Rolls-Royces, to name just a few.

After speeding around the circuit, we then went to visit the Boultbee Flight Academy to get a feel for the Spitfire TR-9.

1956 Jaguar D-Type 'Shortnose' by Nicole Hains

Last week I had the luxury of spending an afternoon at CKL Developments, who specialise in classic and historic Jaguars. CKL are renowned for their incredible talent in restoring historic racing cars with their original panels and parts.

I felt privileged that they gave me the opportunity to be driven in the most spectacular original 1956 Jaguar D-type Shortnose. Often regarded as one of the most desirable of historic racing Jaguars, this D-Type was fantastic to take a spin in on a sunny afternoon.

McLaren 650S Spider by Nicole Hains

What a day!!!!

I spent this sunny afternoon accompanying Nicholas Minassian at Goodwood, doughnutting and completing the hill climb in this stunning Mclaren 650S Spider. Fast would be a huge understatement for my experience in this car, with a top speed of 204mph this will be an unforgettable experience.

Glorious Goodwood Racecourse Campaign by Nicole Hains

With the weather unfortunately not looking so glorious yesterday; the racecourse barely visible under a blanket of thick fog and rain, it was time to proceed with this years Glorious Goodwood Campaign.

Edd Horder & his team did a fantastic job, with Ella and Bonza the horse being the stars of the show. I am looking forward to seeing the final image after the retouching!

Black & White Film by Nicole Hains

I decided to go back to where my photography began when photographing Goodwood's 72nd Members meeting and shot a role of black and white film.

Simply Unmissable by Nicole Hains

'Simply Unmissable' is the only term Goodwood can use to describe the first year of the reopened Members' Meeting. The roar of engines, lovely guests and a bustle of excitement filled the Motor circuit for the most spectacular weekend and I feel very lucky to of been there with my team of photographers. The motor circuit saw some of the most precious of motor cars taking on the uniqueness of Goodwood's track for the first time, for example, the 1980's Group 1 racing saloons. Perhaps the glorious weather and the joy of the members built up an atmosphere quite like no other, but one thing is for sure, the 72nd Members's meeting was special for all who were in attendance.

T'was the night before 72nd Members Meeting by Nicole Hains

It was the eve of the 72nd Members Meeting and you couldn't of kept myself and a few of my photographers away! There was much excitement at the Motor Circuit for the special weekend that was about to commence; as the cars filled the paddocks and the drivers were briefed there was a certain charge in the air.
